Radiosurgery is cutting edge technology we offer as an option for all of our surgery patients. Radiosurgery is used to cut through tissue instead of a stainless steal surgical blade. It is similar to laser surgery in that it seals lymphatics and vessels as it cuts, thereby, decreasing post operative inflammation and pain which expedites healing. Radiosurgery also enables us to perform treatments and surgeries we would other wise not be able to treat such as distichiasis. Distichiasis is a condition where hairs are growing directly into your pet’s eyes, rubbing the cornea. This condition is very painful and can lead to blindness. It is seen most often in Bull Dogs, Shih Tzu, Pekinese, Maltese, Poodles, and Cocker Spaniels. Radiosurgery enables us to safely remove the hairs by zapping the hair follicle.

Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing, alleviating, and preventing pain in animals is the essence of good patient care. Pain assessment is the key to adequate pain management for your pet. Diagnostics, coupled with a detailed client account as to their pet’s behavior, will help our veterinarians determine the best individual pain plan for each patient. Our pets often times cannot tell us how or where they are hurting, and can be “stoic” in how they present pain. It is up to us to be their voice and to ensure they are not silently suffering.Keeping your pet pain-free is our promise and our commitment. Appropriate pain medication is always provided in order to keep your pet pain-free and comfortable both while hospitalized in our care, while recovering from a surgery or illness, and after he/she returns home to your care.
